What drew you into this work?

I had a conversation about funeral directing with a friend (who had worked in the funeral industry). She encouraged me to look into what this career involved. Chris invited me to a work experience day at TNFC, I knew this was for me.

What do you like about your role at The Natural Funeral Company?

I like every part of my role here. It is very special to be able to be alongside families to help create a farewell for loved ones. Body care is also a passion- to help someone look the best they can.

What do you do when you’re not at The Natural Funeral Company?

I am a mother of two. My son has been through an intense and lengthy medical journey since 2013, at the age of 2 when he was diagnosed with a rare immune disease. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, listening to music and a good movie is always great. Going for walks is something I like doing- especially along the beach in the summertime.

What’s your view on death?

Death, to me, is a natural part of life that will eventually happen to all of us. I feel that death should be a subject that is talked about more often.

What’s important to you in a funeral?

The opportunity for a personalised farewell, to share memories and to make sure the families wishes are fulfilled.
