John Schipper, JP, Dip FS, MNZEA

Following his grandfather’s funeral, John decided that the funeral industry was for him and embarked on his career in 1981. Gaining both qualifications for Funeral Directing and Embalming, John went on to represent the New Zealand Embalmers Association as President and later Chair of The Funeral Service Training Trust (formerly the Industry ITO). John is a Justice of the Peace.

Over the last 40+ years, John has held many positions in funeral homes in Auckland, from privately owned small companies to large corporates.

In 2024, John and his wife Tanya were privileged to purchase The Natural Funeral Company. We liked what we saw and are enjoying the intimacy of what a small company has to offer in a relaxed setting, helping families create extraordinary farewells for their loved ones. We offer Natural, Traditional, and Bespoke funerals.
