Traditional or Contemporary Hearse Services
In New Zealand, you can legally transport your loved one in any vehicle of your choosing; the only condition is that they must be properly wrapped and shrouded from public view or placed in a coffin or casket. Some people prefer a more traditional approach, and you can discuss your requirements with the compassionate team at the Natural Funeral Company.
You can request a special route for the funeral hearse to take, which passes significant locations, and you can speak to us about any other special requests you might have. We are here to help you plan the most personal tribute possible for your dearly departed.
How much does it cost for a Funeral Hearse?
When you use our retrofitted Mercedes Hearse, the price comes in at $460. We are happy to assist you with utilising a different vehicle if you prefer it.

Catering
Many people like to serve refreshments after a service so that people can gather to socialise and share stories.
Our preferred caterers can set up classic white tablecloths, supply fresh flowers for your tables, and we can organise wait staff to serve food to your guests.
You can select from a range of options, including canapes, platters, rolls with glazed ham on the bone, or a morning or afternoon tea.
We can also accommodate special requests.
SERVICE CARDS
Our talented designer can put together A6 or A5 cards to be passed to mourners at your service; these are also available as postcards and bookmarks. We can share a digital copy with mourners who can’t attend the service.
A service card is a great way to share some favourite texts or poems and treasured photographs and to provide a clear order of service – or even lyrics to a song to be sung at the service.
Slideshows
We can provide everything you need at our Arohanui Room if you would like to have a slideshow of images of your loved one at the service. You can opt for this as part of a full funeral package, and you can choose both a slideshow and a live stream to share the day with those who can’t attend.
